چکیده
This study was conducted on the interactive effects of Coating Methods (CM) and Storage Periods (SP) on Nantes carrot during ambient storage at temperature of 25°C and 65% relative humidity. Four CM [Carboxy Methyl Cellulose + Cellophane Film (CMC + CF), Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC), Cellophane Film (CF) and No-Coating (NC)] and five SP (0, 4, 8, 11 and 14-days) were investigated for some qualitative characteristics including water content, total soluble solids (TSS), reducing sugar and firmness. A factorial experiment design was laid out in completely randomized design with 3 replications for each one of factors and Duncan’s multiple range tests were performed to compare the means of different treatments. The statistical results of the study indicated that CM and SP significantly (P ≤ 0.01) affected all traits. Interaction of CM × SP for all traits was also significant. The statistical results of the study indicated that CMC + CF for water content and reducing sugar, and CF for firmness were the best CM. In addition, water content, reducing sugar and firmness decreased by increasing the SP, whereas TSS increased by an increase in SP.

Effect of Salicylic Acid on Somatic Embryogenesis and Chlorogenic Acid Levels of Carrot (Daucus carota cv. Nantes) Explants
Many factors may influence the efficiency of somatic embryogenesis. This capability may be differ with regard to media compositions, genotype, tissue, organ ontology and the stage of differentiation. The effects of five salicylic acid concentrations (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mM) on different stages of carrot somatic embryogenesis were studied using petiole and root secondary phloem explants as sta...

The objective of current study was to investigate the effects of whey protein coating on the quality of common kilka during frozen storage period. For this study, common kilka was coated with 12% whey protein concentration. Also, non- coated kilka was used as a control sample. Coated and non-coated samples were then stored at -18 oC for six months. Bacterial, chemical and sensory properties of ...
متن کاملThe effect of carboxymethyl cellulose and pistachio (Pistacia atlantica L.) essential oil coating on fruit quality of cold-stored grape cv. Rasheh
Application of natural compounds such as essential oils and plant materials as bio-products is known as an appropriately safe strategy for controlling decay and maintaining fruit quality. Pistachia atlantica essential oil (PAO) (ranging between 0, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 µl l-1) was tested for antifungal activity against Botrytis cinerea in vitro conditions. Carboxymethyl cellulose (C...
